Manizha Naderi, Executive Director
Manizha Naderi was born in Kabul, Afghanistan and raised in New York and New Jersey. She has a BA in English Language Arts from Hunter College. While she has roots in the Afghan community in Queens, NY, she and her family now divide their time between NYC and Kabul.

Naheed Bahram, NY Program Manager
Naheed was born to a working-class, conservative family in Kabul, Afghanistan. Her family migrated to Peshawar, Pakistan after the loss of her mother in a bomb explosion in Kabul. Ms. Bahram graduated from high school in Pakistan and taught ESL to Afghan women in the Afghan refugee camps in Peshawar. She moved to the United States in 2004 as an international student. She graduated from Queens College in June 2011 with a BA in Finance and Economics. Ms. Bahram has been working with WAW since 2007, first as a volunteer, then intern, then case worker and now NY Program Manager running WAW New York.
Jessica Whitney, Administrative Coordinator
Jessica joined WAW in 2010 through volunteering in the ESL classes in New York. While not an educator by profession, she rapidly fell in love with teaching and tutoring. Now Jessica teaches 4 English and Literacy classes a week, manages homework help and tutoring for children and works part time in the office as Administrative Coordinator.
